  • The site is located close to Hassocks Main Line Station, off London Road, within a short walk of Hassocks train station and the village centre, with all its facilities
  • Site area:
  • The land was promoted in the Neighbourhood Plan
  • Outline Application submitted to Mid Sussex District Council for 97 units
  • Application recommended for Approval but refused at Committee
  • Appeal lodged – main issues were air quality and coalescence between Hassocks and Hurstpierpoint
  • Planning Inspector moved to dismiss the appeal
  • The matter was taken to High Court prior to their decision and recommended it should be reconsidered at Appeal
  • Ongoing Appeal was finally won
  • Land was sold to Barratt Southern Counties (BDW Trading) in association with Gleeson Strategic Land in June 2017
